This is a beautiful player, very pretty and just feels right. Gibson-made Epiphones of this period are
just as cool and equally collectable as their stable mates.
In fact,Gibson was one of the first companies in the world to have franchised dealerships in each
town, and one advantage to acquiring the Epiphone brand was that they could now grow their
business by having a Gibson and an Epiphone dealer franchise in each town!. The other was that
Epiphone had already developed the humbucking pickup in the form of the mini humbucker before
Gibson came up with their humbucker, and were using them on their arch top jazz guitars already.
The Riviera was an ES335 with mini humbuckers, the other difference being the Cherry burst, as
opposed to the Vintage sunburst of the Gibson.
Just enough checking to look perfect for its age.
A bit of discolouration from arm wear, nothing serious.
