Hawaiian guitar – sadly gone and mostly forgotten, Hawaiian music was a huge musical phenomenon
for many years.
Even the name got changed by history to ‘slide guitar’ because of the emerging style of ‘slide blues’
that became its reason to survive. These instruments really are all that’s left of the Hawaiian era.
So very little of the music has survived, and no one that I know could name even one Hawaiian
guitarist. But, the good news is whack out some greasy Robert Johnson licks and it will really put a
smile on your face!
