GIBSON SG CUSTOM – 1975 FADED CHERRY

SERIAL NUMBER: 105172
DATE: 1975

The super slim neck on this guitar feels silky smooth, and it sounds like only a Custom can, with three
humbucking pickups giving a unique sonic option. When you select the bridge or neck pickup, the
sound is the same as an SG Standard, but the centre selection pairs the middle and bridge pickups
together for added tonal variety. This provides a cool sound for some slightly overdriven blues
territory, and a trifle more power for solo work……………..imagine the sonic possibilities if this went 5-
way !?

Anyway, SG Customs always look great, and this one keeps in tradition. It has faded to brown, but is
actually a cherry model, with the back giving the game away, as it still has a cherry hue to it.

This generation of SG `s was the beginning of the move closer to the `61 body shape, with a more
pronounced sculpturing of the body, and the small scratch plate which looks classy.
