Super slim, highly playable neck. Sounds wonderful, and the custom wiring and sound is absolutely
unique. In the early 70`s the SG had drifted away from its early image and had lost the attractive
sculptured look of the early 60`s models, along with other not so subtle changes initiated for cost
effectiveness rather than aesthetics, and sales suffered as a result. That changed with the mid 70`s
models and they were getting back to their vintage heritage that we loved.
Because of the extra weight of the 3 pickups and the heavier bridge, this generation of the SG
balanced better than earlier models with less of a tendency for the neck to nose dive when you let it
go. A superb instrument that was top of the line and designed for maximum visual candy!
Note the body sculpturing is much closer to the early sixties model – classy…this also minimised the
gaps between the pickup surrounds: in the `75 model the pickup surrounds were right up against
each other. This left a substantial gap between the bridge pickup and the bridge that just didn`t look
right – the ’76 rectified this thankfully.
As new condition, this is a truly rare 10/10 guitar.
